photography coupon on everything

cover photo final-2488

Photography coupon, valid if you book by March 1, 2016 or before.

Dear Friends,

As 2015 draws to an end, I wanted to ring in the photographs of 2016 by doing lots of pro-active things. First, I’m renovating my studio, so that I’ll be able to create wonderful indoor pictures for everything from couples to moms-to-be to rock stars and actors. Second, I’m buying a cool new camera that’s supposed to be delivered today, along with a new fancy lens. Nothing excites me more professionally, than a new fancy lens. It’s like getting new eyes. And lastly, I’m offering a 20% photography coupon discount to anyone who books at 2016 photo session with me before March 1, 2016. I hope to have some wonderful studio days before then.

Oh yes! I serve mainly Northampton and the Pioneer Valley, but also love all of New England, and the New York tri-state area.

This can be for anything: children, family, maternity, musicians, artists, authors, CEOs, linked in profile pictures, dancers, boudoir, engagement, bridal you name it. I’ll even include brand storytelling, where I’ll go into your place of business and document the environment and products, and the people who work and shop/eat/drink there.

Incidentally, it hasn’t even gotten cold here in New England yet. Well, to my sister who visited from Florida for Thanksgiving, it may be cold, but to me, it’s balmy. It may not even be necessary for many people, to take indoor pictures, as it’s in the 50s these days. But for those who want studio pictures, use the photography coupon and let do this!

Today I’ll be taking pictures of a family by a creek. Delightful. In this crazy time in our world, I want to wish everyone a peaceful, joyous holiday season and a prosperous new year!

Brand Storytelling at ITAC

When I began taking photoraphs, I didn’t know what I was doing was called Brand Storytelling. In fact, I don’t even know if the terms existed. Branding, yes, but Brand Storytelling? Not so much. I realize that in many cases, when I attend and photograph theater performance, and go backstage, and photograph the actors and details that’s Brand Storytelling. When I go into a store, and highlight the product and the ideas behind the product. That’s a story. How does it differ from journalism? Brand Storytelling strengthens the brand, necessarily. The objective of journalism is to expose or iluminate a variety of things, and it’s not neccessarily the Brand Identity of a company or institution.

When I shoot a wedding, I think of it as Storytelling, plain and simple. And it’s more like a fairy tale. Here, I was invited to photograph an organization called ITAC, in the heart of the financial District in NYC. It’s mission is to “To strengthen the economy of New York City by improving the performance of small to mid-size firms that create or produce technical and manufactured products.” No small task!

My favorite part of the office, obviously, was the view from the 11th floor.

Admonsters¬†Loves Ops Do I have any idea what that means? Not really. Ad Ops are described on their site as, “Digital or online advertising is a subset of the advertising industry that references electronic communication promotions and marketing. This can include but is not limited to website display advertising (banner ads or rich media advertising), text advertising, search advertising (paid search results), online video advertising, mobile and device advertising (sms, wap display ads, video, application ads), email display ads and text advertising. These advertisements are a forum of revenue generation for content providers.” As a business person in an extremely competitive industry, I should be paying attention. This area of business is something I should be paying special attention to. In fact, I should be attending these conferences. But, as an artist, my eyes glaze over, sadly.

I recommend anyone who wants to network and learn, to sign up for these Ops events.

I just know that I photographed a great event for Admonsters , an Ops gathering, at The Lighthouse, Pier 60, a goregeous waterfront venue in New York. The food was amazing. Fresh carrot juice, green juices, raw vegetables, all healthy stuff. Day turned to evening and the pictures reflected this lovely change.
